- Dear Marty Sorensen:
- You ask how to get from, say, page 6-2 back to page 1-1 without all the
- paging/punching down on the i4sà
- Let me try to describe the shortcut:
- Once youÆre done tweaking and programming, and youÆve saved the changes
- with WRITE/REC, hold the ARR button (or whatever mode) which is
- alongside the volume, to the left. As you hold it, press the top ô1ö on
- the set of double numbered arrangement keys (above the two rows of
- numbered buttons for PROGRAM). This quickly resets you to page 1-1, in
- whatever mode you happen to be.
- As for your second quandry, about unwanted muting: It may have nothing
- to do with un-muting, depending upon your setting for ôsplit keyboardö.
- If the split point is set for very low in the bass clef, then youÆd
- probably hear only the voice youÆve set for Keyboard I.
- Better than what I can explain, without quoting the manual, trust me ù
- youÆd do yourself a lot of favors by reading your manual. If you donÆt
- have one, it would be worth the value of lots of downtime to order the
- set from KORG. True, the writers may not have covered all possible
- questions and problems, but with the 3inches-worth of 4 manuals, thereÆs
- a lot of information for users to master in the hope of becoming more
- intuitive about roadblocks. (A decent get-started video also came with
- my i4s.) And for the unanswerable, thank goodness there are more
- experienced Korgers hanging out in lists like this.
- About your final comment: One of the coolest features of a decent
- keyboard is the ability to split into upper and lower voices or sections
- (and even more areas in the latest crop of instruments) so we donÆt have
- to invest in more æboards. (Get your Split Point appropriately placed!)
- With the ability to choose a voiceÆs basic elements, you can make one
- program from a layer of 2 voices. Then, in ARRANGEMENT, you can layer 2
- programs ù which youÆve created with 2 voices ù to sound like 4
- instruments.
- Good luck with experimenting and discovering.
